Naturalisation for Parent and 1 Child

Hi All,

I plan to apply for my naturalisation in first week of March 2020 as I would have completed my stay on ILR for more than a year then. My dependent daughter (6 years old) has received her ILR on 15th Feb 2020.
I dont see any issue in my application but my concerns and questions are more for my daughter :

1. Can I apply for her naturalisation as well along with my application Or does she need her own separate application?
2. Is she even eligible for naturalisation now, or will I have to wait another year before I can apply for her?
3. If either of 1&2 is true, then will I need 2 separate (compared to mine) referees for her as well?
4. Will the residency rule apply to her and if yes, will it be 3 years or 5 years?

Thank you in advance for all of you guys who cared to read and respond.

1. Your child can apply with you. There is an option to add family members in form AN.

2. See #1

3. See #1

4. Depends how old the child is. Older children, i.e. 10 or 11 and older, require a minimum of 2 years residence.

Thanks for your prompt replies. My daughter is 6 years old, so I assume the 3/5 years residency rule wont be applicable for her. Lastly, will she need 2 separate referees compared to mine.

You can use the same referees provided they meet the requirements and are not related to you or to each other. Note also that usually the professional referee should be engaged with the child.

Thanks for the reply. Just FYI, probably silly and you would already be knowing, my daughter was born outside the UK :) I hope all the answers above still remain the same.

Is there a need to fill in the AN form physically, since online application is also basically the same thing, isnt it?

Form AN is online for applicants in the UK. That is all you need to complete.
