"evidence of freedom from immigration time restrictions"

Hello,

I am applying for British Citizenship and the checklist for Proof of Nationality requires the following documents:

"You must include your:
- passport or EEA national identity card
- UK permanent residence card
- evidence of freedom from immigration time restrictions"

Does my Permanent Residence Card count as "evidence of freedom from immigration time restrictions"?

Thanks,

Jerome

Yes, if you have one this is what you need to include.

I'm sure you know your own case, but I should make an obligatory note to double check that your residence card explicitly states "Document certifying permanent residence" as it is otherwise identical to a "Registration certificate" (which is different) except for the wording.

There have been a few cases on the forums where people had accidentally supplied a residence card instead of a DCPR leading to their application being refused.

Thanks very much.

So just to be clear, even though the checklist requires three documents, only two documents (passport + PRC) are sufficient?

Thanks,

Jerome

Referee declaration form photos

Hello,

I am applying for British Citizenship. On the Referee Declaration Form it says:

"Referees and Identity
Passport photo
On the back of the applicant’s photograph, please write
their full name and date of birth. The photograph should
then be glued into the space aside."

Just double-checking it is definitely my photo with my name (the applicant) on the back of it, and not the referee's name or photo. Correct?

Thanks,

Jerome

Correct, as DCPR is issued to people who are now free of immigration restrictions due to them having exercised EU/EEA treaty rights for five (or more) years in the UK.

If you look at Guide AN you will notice the following:
Guide AN wrote: European Economic Area nationals and Swiss nationals

This section covers you if the country of which you are a national is part of the European Economic Area or Switzerland. It tells you how you can show that you are free of immigration time restrictions by either:
  • having a permanent residence document
  • having been granted indefinite leave to remain in the UK,including underthe EU Settlement Scheme(referred to as “settled status”)
Of course, you still need to supply LITUK pass certificate, evidence of knowledge of English, etc.

Excellent. Many thanks for clearing that up.

All the best,

Yes that's correct, the photo should be of you, the applicant.

One of the reasons for having referees is for them to verify/prove the identity of the applicant.
