Few questions of clarification before I submit

Hi All,
I just want to clarify a few points before I submit and pay for the application tomorrow.
1. I’ve seen people already ask if should click yes to the question “Are you either:
• An EEA national who has been issued with a permanent residence document
• A family member of an EEA national who has been issued with a permanent residence card”
But if I clicked yes it asked if I’ll use settled status and no where else does it ask that if I click no. Why should I click no? This isn’t clear to me.
Further to that point If I click no it the documents asked to provide are:
Miss ____’s proof of freedom from immigration time restrictions
You must provide one of the following documents:
• your passport showing you are able to remain permanently in the UK
• other (for example, a letter from the Home Office, your BRP card or other proof of exemption from immigration control)
If I click yes it says:
Miss ______’s proof of Nationality
You must include your:
• passport or EEA national identity card
• UK permanent residence card
• evidence of freedom from immigration time restrictions
It then becomes clear why I should not click this option as I cannot provide a permanent residence document, but then why does it allow the option to use settled status when you click it? Very confusing.
2. How do I prove my settled status? I understand it is linked to my passport, but other than that I have nothing else. I have the letter provided to me notifying me my application was successful but that is not proof of status as it states in the letter. Should I use it anyway?
3. The requirement to be physically present confuses me. Do I need to provide proof I was in the UK on the 2nd of March 2015. I know I was, so are my letters from school/university proving residency enough?
Thank you all for reading and answering my questions.
