Naturalisation

Hello,
I got very useful tips from you in the past, so I thought I should come back to you for my two more questions, please.
I came to the UK in 2010 with a Student Visa and ever since have been on Post Study and then on Unmarried Partner (three times) until I finally got my ILR in February through Long Residence route.
My partner and I have been having some issues lately but we put everything on hold so that I could get my ILR first. He is a lovely person but he is not happy in this relationship anymore. Now that I have my ILR, I don't want to impose myself on his life.
I have two questions:
a) If we break up, would that affect my naturalization? Or my ILR? (I don't know why I had to submit his documents as well when I was applying for ILR. I did it after 10 years of legally living in the UK, not through the unmarried partner route)
b) It seems like I don't have to wait for a year and then apply for Naturalization. I can apply for it as the partner of a British citizen now. If I do so, would that tie us together forever?
I'd appreciate your help.
