travel on British citizenship certificate

Dear Members.

I need some help, i have received british citizenship approval letter to book citizenship ceremony within 21 days, i call the council they got the free date on 17 Mar i am traveling on 14 March, i ask them to book me in private the only date they got for private is 12 March, if i attend the ceremony can i travel on my citizenship certificate?
once received the citizenship certificate i have to send my BRP within 5 working days. i will be away for 40 days. please need your advise thanks in advance.

I suggest you book your ceremony for when you have returned to the UK.

A naturalisation certificate is NOT a travel document. If you don't have a BRP and you are a visa national, you will unlikely be able to board a plane back showing a certificate, which is just a piece of paper at the end of the day.

Thanks for the reply, The letter i received from home office says in 21 days you have to book your ceremony , i also call the council the said your deadline for the ceremony is in may 2020 which is almost 3 months, i am going on holidays for 40 days still i will be able to book ceremony while return from my holidays? of do i need to book it now?

Book the ceremony now for a date when you are back in the UK.

You must book within 21 days and ATTEND the ceremony within 90 days.
