Hi there apologies if this is in the wrong section, couldnt find one labelled for UK passports.

My wife has just received her citizenship so now in the process of the first UK passport. Her signatory for citizenship was a driving instructor however its not listed in the professions for the passport application.

My cousins wife is a solicitor however I do not know whether she can be accepted as a signatory for my wife?

Is she related to her in anyway?

Do not quite understand the 'Related by marriage' part of the below:

related to them by birth or marriage
in a relationship with or live at the same address as them

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

She cannot use a relative, either by birth (ie blood family) or through marriage (an in law etc).

The cousin wife is a relative through marriage to her birth family member.

You should refer to the official hmpo professional list.
