Hello
I am a Turkish citizen, and I came to the UK in September 2010 on a Tier 4 student visa.
In 2013, I have married to my wife who was holding Tier 2 type visa at that time. In March 2016, I switched my visa as dependent of her. In August 2016, she got her indefinite leave to remain and afterwards she was naturalised in February 2018.

My PBS dependent visa will expire in October 2020. I meet the requirements with regards to absences from the UK. I would like to ask you as to which route would be quicker to apply for naturalisation. Do I need to apply for ILR fist before being naturalised?

Kind regards
Bahadir

ILR is mandatory before you can apply for citizenship. There is no shortcut route to skip ILR.

Yes. As advised by CR001 above, ILR is a prerequisite for a naturalisation application.

You can apply for naturalisation immediately after getting ILR as you are the spouse of a British citizen, provided you meet the three year absence and physical presence requirements and other requirements (good character, etc).
