Hi All,

I am planning to apply for Naturalisation next month but my current passport is only valid for another 5 months. My understanding is that the application processing time can take upto 6 months + additional processing time for the British Passport application. I am wondering what would be the impact of passport expiring whilst the application is still with the Home Office. Are there any guidelines on this?

So if the passport expired during the Naturalisation application processing, could I still use the expired passport to apply for a British Passport (assuming the Naturalisation is granted) or would I first need to renew my passport before applying.

You can use the expired passport to apply for a British passport.
