Hi all

This is on behalf of a friend whose daughter came to UK 3.5 years ago on spouse visa. She has got 1 British child ( 2 years old). She was given ILR about 2 years ago based on being victim of domestic violence.

Can she apply for naturalisation now that its been more than a year on ILR or she needs to wait for 5 years spent in UK? There was some mix advice given to her before, so any clear help with reference material will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

She needs to meet both requirements, five years of residence in the UK (assuming that she is not married to a British citizen) AND at least one year on ILR. So effectively it will be when she meets the longer of the two requirements when she can apply for British citizenship.
