Hi all,
I have submitted my Natrurlization application online and got the home office acknowledgement also. In the present condition, I am not sure when I will get the appointment as thy have advised it will be on the basis of date applied. I have to travel to the outside the UK for some time, will stay outside the UK will affect 90 days in the UK in the last one year. What will be the date they will take when one year in the UK or 5 years in the UK calculation. My travels and stay outside the UK is unavoidable .Please advise. Thanks.

Only absences before the date of the application are considered for the purposes of calculating whether you met the absences requirements.

But you will be expected to be in the UK to answer any questions if they write to you (so make sure that your post is regularly checked by a friend/family member), and you will have to take the oath and apply for the British passport from within the UK.

There have been two recent cases where the Passport Office have escalated to the Home Office about whether the applicant had failed to met the future intentions requirement of the naturalisation process when they applied for their first British passport from abroad, after attending their naturalisation ceremony in the UK.
