I was supposed to apply for naturalisation this year ,but I stayed more than 5 months in India (went there for holiday in Feb and couldn't travel back)because of Covid 19 pandemic , and travel restrictions all flights to London was cancelled.I came back last week in evacuation flight. Can I apply for naturalisation this year ,will I be exempted from the rule of staying not more than 90 days outside Uk as the pandemic situation was beyond our control.
Can you please suggest what should I do in this situation.

Regards,
Shaheera

There has been no change to the rules for citizenship.

Apply when you meet the requirements. Your right to live in the UK is not affected if you do not apply for citizenship now.

Naturalisation is not a compulsory application that must be made by a particular deadline.
