URGENT- Ceremony deadline clarification -

Hi All,
I'm so confused at the moment about these extension dates and would really appreciate if someone can clarify! I'm interested to know what others have received as their new deadline after the extension and how the 6 months has been calculated!? Please share.
So I got my invitation from the home office dated 26th Feb, 2020 and I was in the process of arranging my ceremony with the home office for sometime late March/ April since I was away traveling outside the UK. My original deadline I was told by the council was 24th May to have a ceremony. And then ofc Covid happened and I got stuck in a different country since lockdown started mid March and was informed the deadline has been extended to 6 months which I assumed now will be 24th August.
Recently my local council has started doing ceremonies again so I was trying to figure when I need to travel by and I was finding it difficult to get flights so I had emailed citizenship support team asking if my deadline can be extended and if not what other options I have. I got the below reply stating it's extended until 12th August which has confused me because that's not 6 months from my initial date:
I refer to your application for British Citizenship and your email enquiry.
You must normally book the ceremony within three months of being sent an invitation from the Home Office, however, due to the current circumstances we have extended this period to 12th August 2020. We will keep this under constant review. No adverse decisions will be made on applications because of delays caused by Coronavirus (unless there is a material change in your circumstances, for example, you are convicted of a criminal offence).

I also had emailed my local council to see if they had received more info on my application with an updated deadline date and she got back to me saying the below;
The guidance we have said
The time available for customers to book a ceremony has already been extended from the normal three month period, with the introduction of a six month extension from the start of the lockdown date (23rd March), so that no individual is impacted by the delay.
So I assume this means you have until 23rd September to book a ceremony
This has confused me further about my actual deadline now which I need to know in order to book a flight to get back to the UK!! I've contacted the support lines and replied to the citizenship support for clarification and I've heard NOTHING!! No response.
PLEASE HELP!!
