Travel after receiving confirmation of citizenship

Hello,

My wife received confirmation that she has been approved for citizenship although she is waiting for invitation letter and citizenship ceremonies to resume in order to book the ceremony and subsequently apply for passport. Unfortunately, she has to travel due to unforeseen circumstance. She has her valid biometric residence permit with Indefinite Leave to Remain. Is there any issue if she travels / leaves the UK for a few weeks and returns? Or should she wait until citizenship ceremony complete and passport in-hand?

Thank you.

She is free to travel. She is only British once she has attended her ceremony and at which point her ilr BRP has to be returned.

Bear in mind that the risk of getting stuck abroad is a big one.

Thanks for the reply. You're right but ill health of family member hasn't left much choice it seems. I just need to find out if council is booking citizenship ceremony as she has not received invitation just a general approval letter.
