Hi I am about to apply Bc for my 3 year old Uk born daughter.

I have few questions:

1. which one is the better way (faster), via online or paper-based form (offline) applications:
Offline apps:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... n-form-mn1

Online apps:
https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... 1580848872

2. For the 2 referral, these two persons should have British Nationals or only is it ok if they have only ILR?

thanks.

Please do not tag onto other members topics. Post split to your own thread.

1. You need to apply online and upload documents to the ukcvas portal. The paper form clearly states on page 1 it is for those not in the UK.

2. You need one referee who is a professional on the list and ideally engaged with the child and they can be if any nationality. The other referee must british and over the age of 25, not required to be a professional.

It is not a "letter" that they write. The form for referees is part of the inline application which you will complete and download at the end and past a photo of the child on each form. You then send or take the form to the referees to each physically sign. You upload the signed forms with all the supporting documents.

Hi,

I one question. I have applied yesterday the online MN1 form to register my daughter as citizen.

I just realised that one of the referee (since she is a child) should be a teacher or health visitor that now her personally. She is 3 year old and not yet in school.

I have completed the form and put the two referee as our friend (they know our daughter personally and regularly meet her). I cannot change anything now.

should I explain it in the cover letter regarding the referee?

for addition,

the two referee are British citizen. they are a professional engineer and are not a teacher or health visitor (but now the daughter personally).

any suggestion with this situation, just the cover letter enough?

cheers,

One of the referee has to be someone who knows the child in a professional capacity such as a teacher, health visitor, minister of religion etc.

However, HO is not very strict when it comes to referees in case of a young child and they tend to approve non-professional capacity referees also.

Having said that, usually you have to write a cover letter explaining why you can not provide a referee who knows the child in professional capacity, for example if the health visitor or teacher denied or there are other reasons why you can not get a reference from them. In this case you can send another referee (other than professional capacity).

In any case, if HO will not accept the referee, it will write back to you to provide another one. But that may cause delays.
