naturalization application with expired passports

Respected gurus and members,
Due to Covid 19, I did not get any appointment to renew our passports of our country (going to expire on 25 October), and hopefully we are going to apply for naturalization on December, In case if we could not renew our passports can we apply for naturalization or not?
I am regularly checking to book appointment to renew our passports, but in case?
