Good day all,

My wife is applying for her first UK passport.
Her surname is more than 30 characters long, so according to the home office "Annexe A" document, she should abbreviate her name on the application form and then write her full name in the "other information" section of the passport application form.

We are trying to use the online service. Have so far gotten to the card payment page, and so far there has been no "other information" section.
Can anyone tell me if, after the payment pages, there is a space to write additional info?
We are hesitant to complete the payment with knowing this in advance.

I haven't done the online application for a passport yet (about to in the next few hours if I can get everything ready) but, going from my online citizenship application experience, I will say that there won't be any section to add "Other Information" after payment - for my citizenship application, this other info section was before payment - because technically, you've completed the application itself when you're about to pay.

Unless there's a really good reason, why not just use a paper application instead? Or either visit or call your local HM Passport Office and ask if you can get to them...they must be backlogged just like the other departments - but considering how important it is since it's her name, I wouldn't risk and rush it myself.

I'll try to post an update tomorrow once I've gone through the process.

Write a cover letter and produce with other documents.
