BNO passport - no stamp on first day in 5-year period

Hi all

I have a BNO passport (British National Overseas), and I am planning to do registration (Form BOTA) instead of naturalisation but the rules are similar.

On the first day of the 5-year period (planning to apply on 30/08/2020 so the first day being 31/08/2015), I came back to the UK from a trip in France but I believe the immigration officer mistook my passport as a British passport and my passport was not stamped. Will I be questioned on this or will they have sufficient record on the immigration system to verify this ? My next UK stamp is 15/09/2015 - technically it is not too far away with just 2 more weeks but of course everyone wants to apply asap...

Thank you very much in advance !

If you do have a stamp that is dated two weeks later, I would advise waiting till those two weeks are up and applying after 15th September. In the grand scheme of things, two weeks is a trifle, but an early application may cause unnecessary grief.
