Hi can my aunties husband confirm my identity for passport application or does he count as a relative? And if he can't what should I do if I don't know anyone who can?

Your passport referee must be a professional or person of good standing in the community and not related to you through blood or through marriage. Aunty husband is related to your marriage.

This is very clearly stated on the gov.uk website.

Then you’re not eligible to receive a passport (which is a privilege, not a right).

What about the professional referee you used for your citizenship application? Were they British?

At least in the UK and Canada, they are not a right. Indeed, most countries around the world state that ID Cards and passports are property of the issuing government, not the person carrying the document.
