Hi,

My wife and son got naturalisation during COVID-19 period and when er are now trying to apply for passort it says passort application could take longer then expected time. While we are planning to fly next month. My question is if we can travel to Pakistan and come back on our paskitani passport and apply British pasport later (after return) then shall it be fine? or we can nottravle with Pakistani passports? (we have dual nationality means British and paskitani both). Any help and advise will be much appreciated.

My understanding is you cannot enter the UK using your certificate of British citizenship or old BRP(must return it within 5 days after getting your certificate of British citizenship. You need either British passport or certificate of entitlement for right of adobe in UK

After you get your certificate

You must send your biometric residence permit (BRP) back to the Home Office within 5 working days of getting your certificate of British citizenship.
You’ll be fined up to £1,000 if you do not return your permit within 5 working days.
You cannot enter the UK using your BRP or certificate of British citizenship.
