Going Abroad After Application

Hi, i'm currently in the process of applying for naturalisation, planning to send electronically at the end of the month, currently preparing all the documents etc. I however need to go abroad to visit my mother for the next couple of months.
- Is there a need for me to be in the country for biometric appointment once I send my application? how soon after applying would that be?
- my understanding is that documents have to be uploaded electronically after the application, so do i need to send documents by post at all?

I'm EEA with ILR married to British wife.

Thank you

1. You'll need to be in the UK to attend your biometrics appointment. When you have submitted/paid your application you can then book an appointment online - can't advise on availability. Otherwise you are free to travel.
2. No documents need to be send to UKVI by post - they can still ask for on original during the review but that's quite rare.
