Kids British citizenship

Dear admin
I have made an application for British citizenship of my kids in Oct 2020. Their biometric appointment is still due. But I made a big mistake regarding 2 refrees. I submitted 2 British nationals as refrees. Until I submitted the application, I only knew that 2 referee who are British citizens can be used.
But unfortunately, now I read from ukvcas document checklist for biometric appointment that one referee must be a professional, who has worked with the child. No doubt , I can privide that.
My desperate query is that how can I correct my mistake. The 2 refrees I mentioned in application are not professionls. I definitely can get reference from my child's social worker or school. Will home office allow me to submit additional referees as application has been made and how? Is it going to affect the outcome of the application? I am very anxious now. Pls help
Thanks in advance

Relax. You can add a cover letter and arrange the social worker to act as the referee. Provide the new referee’s details in the cover letter and upload the new referee form before biometrics. All good.

In case, the school and social worker refuses (as usually they do), mention the same in the cover letter and make sure the referee’s you provided already fulfil the ADULT criteria otherwise arrange accordingly. HO is not strict when it comes to referees in case of young kids.
