Do we need to submit passport with the naturalization application?

Hi All,
I hold a non-EU (Indian) passport, ILR (via EU Settlement scheme) and am am planning to apply for naturalization using the 3 year route (as my spouse is a UK/EU national). I also have a EEA residence card (Biometric Residence Card).
I have some travel lined in the next 3-4 months so was wondering if I need to physically send my passport as part of the naturalization application. This information will help me plan the timing of my application.
Reading the forum, it seems that people who previously have submitted biometrics to Home office are invited to use an app to submit all documents, and there is no need to physically send the passport. It would be great if someone could please confirm this.
Many thanks.
