Joint British Citizenship Application - Partner on EEA Settle Status and another with ILR

Hi,

I tried searching the forum but couldn't find anything that fits my situation. I would like to know if I can apply to British Citizenship in the same application (together as a joint application) with my Wife. She will qualify for British Citizenship earlier than me.

The situation of my Wife: She is a German citizen living in the UK for 6 years. She got the Settle Status in October 2019, so it's been already one year after Settled Status, and she now qualifies for British Citizenship.

My situation: I'm a Brazilian citizen, and I have ILR (Got it in July 2020). I will only qualify for British Citizenship next year, but I'm aware that I can apply before 1 full year, in case I'm married to a British Citizen.

I assume that if my wife is applying and get approval, she will become a British Citizen. Therefore I wonder if I can apply together (same application) asking both cases to be considered, mine would be dependent o the decision of her case. But ultimately if she gets the approval, I would immediately have the right to apply as an ILR person married to a British citizen. Would it be possible? Can this situation be submitted together?

Tks
Dan

You cannot apply at the same time. If you do, you will be refused and lose your fee as you don't meet the requirements of 1 year of settled status if not married to a British citizen. There is no appeal rights for refused citizenship applications.

She is only British after she has attended her ceremony, not from date of approval letter.

Citizenship take a few months and there are currently delays with applications and ceremonies.
