Has anyone else received an email from HO claiming they can not reach a decision on the application within the six months promised.
How long did it take until you received a decision? I applied for my British citizenship in October and up until now I am still waiting for a decision. I received this email in March and still waiting.

You were already advised in November that it can take longer than 6 months. A lot of people have waited a year, sometime much longer for a decision.
Many applicants have receive these emails.

You have a slightly more complex immigration history plus a previous citizenship refusal, which means your case will take as long as HO needs to make a decision.
There have also been delays during lockdown.

Hi guys!
I started my immigration journey on this board in 2009 and have received very useful information through every step I made!
Today I received my decision for BC and was successful after a long journey (thank God!) and waiting a year to date from my application last year. I just wanted to say thank you to those that have helped me and answered my questions and continue to help those like me that can’t afford legal representation or understand the legal jargon, you are all God sent especially you CR001 and Zimba.
Good luck and fingers crossed for everyone with ongoing applications. My journey is over for now

Congratulations on the successful journey. Keep on the forum and provide insights to other users who may require your experience in sorting out their circumstances.
