Child first British passport

Hope someone can help me with this. I gave birth a month ago to my son and I'm trying to apply for his first uk passport. As I've been living in the UK for 10 years, even though I'm not British myself, he was born in the UK so he is eligible for a UK passport. The problem is that in the application they ask for someone to confirm his identity and this someone must be British and work for the government or have a respectable job, apart from knowing us personally for more than 2 years. My question is, if you don't know anybody like this, is there any other alternative to confirm his identity? Thanks in advance!

Do you have settled status?

The guidance clearly states what is accepted. It is up to HMPO to accept otherwise.

Yes I can read and understand what it says, but what I'm asking is if there is another way. I was told that for example, a GP could do it and I want to know if that would work. I'm sure we are not the only ones in this situation and I find it very odd that this is the only way to get a passport. In my country you don't need anyone to confirm the child's identity, is much more simple.

You are not applying for your country’s passport. You are applying for a UK passport. You need to follow what the guidance says or otherwise add a cover letter and use someone else. It is up to HMPO to approve your case or not.
Who cannot confirm someone’s identity
you’re a doctor - unless you know the person who has asked you well (for example, you’re a good friend)
