Naturalisation and settled status

Good evening, I would like some advice please. I have a permanent residence card as a non eea national.
I applied for naturalisation on the 5th of November and due to get biometrics done on the 18th of November however after doing some reading I realise that my card wont be valid after the 31st of December so just wanted to know
1-if I can still apply for settled status while naturalisation is being considered.
2- if I do not get a decision before the 31st of December or it is refused can I still apply for settled status as I read that I have until the 30th of June 2021 to apply but if the permanent residence card is invalid how would I go about applying.
3- I work full time in the nhs and get help with nursery fees through universal credit which I read will stop come 31st of December if this happens it will affect my job greatly so should I withdraw my naturalisation application and apply for settled status to be on the safe side?
I was not aware of all these charges until recently and thought apply for citizenship was the best choice as I had until June 2021 but just found out about December 31st.
I have had PR since 2016.
Any advice would be really appreciated. Thank you.

If you applied with an EU Permanent Residence card before 31 December 2020 and satisfy all other requirements for naturalisation there is no issue, it will be accepted even though the application processing will go beyond the year end. Note the card may expire but the lawful residence you have accumulated doesn't disappear. Is there any reason why you think you may be refused?

I have ccjs but I have provided evidence that I have been paying for the past 3 years. Apart from that nothing. I have 11 years work history with nhs, no criminal record or driving offences and left the uk only twice in 19 years.
Just worried about what will happen after 31 December. If naturalisation is refused can I still apply for settled status after 31st December.
Thanks for responding.

CCJ not a problem if you have arrangements/payment plans in place to clear them.
Otherwise it seems you are ok with your application - and as you applied with a valid PR card THIS year there's no issue.
And yes you can still apply for settled status until 30. June 2021. Naturalisation is a discretionary application and in the event of refusal it does not invalidate your current status.

Hi Arnoa

I thought I will drop a message here because I’m in exactly same situation. I hold PR card and have applied for citizenship on 5th November. I would appreciate if you keep me updated with your timelines.

Alterhase58- My application seems fine but just for peace of mind I wonder if I can submit EUSS application as well. Will that have any negative impact or is it not advisable?

Thank you

As I advised the original poster it is not an issue - PR was issued under EU Regulations and Settled Status is under UK regulations - they are two different things - you can apply while your nat. application is in progress. Naturalisation: As long as you applied with a valid document there will be no issue if/when it expires - happens frequently with passports.

Thank you Arnoa.

My biometric appointment is on 20/11. Will apply for EUSS early December I think. Will keep in touch.

Just a quick query please alterhase58: My credit reports are saying no CCJ in my name. Are these reports accurate or should I contact anyone to make sure? Just wondered about declaring my council tax arrears. I was advised not to mention it in application due to no CCJ. I had a letter from Sherriff and I called them to make the payment arrangements and have been paying regularly since then.

Thank you

If it's not a CCJ then no need to report. I know there are instances of CCJs having been recorded due to changes of address, but generally quite rare. I wouldn't bother but it's up to you. I believe there's a web site where you can search for CCJ but I don't have the details > Google.
