Electoral Roll register

Good morning all.

Hope you all well.

I'm seeking for advice on next question:

I've submitted my Naturalisation application about 3 weeks ago based on 10 years of residency and 1 year of Settled status in the UK. Few days ago I realised that I've been registered in electoral roll as ''British'' by mistake (about 7 years ago my wife has registered both of us, so I never bothered to check it or even didn't pay any attention on it). Does it affect my "good character" requirement for citizenship application? It hasn't been spotted yet, and I'm not sure if it will, but maybe make sense to report it somehow by sending them (HO) cover letter with explanation?

Thank you.

Regards,
VK

As long you do not have any civil or criminal penalties for providing false information, you are fine. Just update it and get it corrected now with the relevant electoral register team.

Thank you for advice Cullinan,

much appreciate it.

No penalties so far, all clear. Will update my electoral register info accordingly, unless decision on application will be positive and will come up sooner so no update will be required. Electoral roll register was only required to improve credit history, nothing to do with cheating or using false Information.

Kind regards,
VK

I understand. It is not intentional but still false information in electoral register so best to get it updated. You will only become British when you attend the ceremony, not approval alone, which is taking extra 4-5 months after approval.
