APPLYING FIRST CHILD PASSPORT IN UK FOR CHILD LIVING IN INDIA

Hello,
I wanted to check if I can apply British passport for my child in UK who is currently living with his grandparents in India? I wanted to apply from here as it will take long time if we apply from India
Background: Child was born in UK before father got ILR and travelled to India with only Indian Passport. After ILR Made MN1 application online in UK and sent the documents by post. Received Biometrics letter and enrolled biometrics in India. Awaiting his registration letter. Caseworker sent email asking if we would like the documents posted to India or UK address. We asked to send it to UK address.
We have his passport here . Just wanted to check if it is ok to apply passport here after receiving the MN1 certificate.
