Hi
I am about to file my Naturalisation Application alongwith my wife and Children under 18. I have following query
1. I been fined by Megisterate Court in 2018 for having a car with no insurance. I have given this conviction detail at time of filing my ILR application.
a. Now my question is that whether i need to put this conviction again in AN Form?
B. Secondly, whether this Megisterate Court fine is termed as Criminal Conviction, and
C. Lastly. If i need does it impact my Naturalisation application in any form.
Please guide
Thanks in Advance

Yes the fine will be equivalent to a criminal conviction. You are advised to apply after 3 years from the date of conviction.
A fine counts as a criminal conviction and forms part of someone’s criminal record. Fines must be declared and may result in refusal if received within the last three years. Failure to declare may result in an application being refused on the grounds of deception. See Deception and Dishonesty.

Thanks for your reply. I have read the Page 17 of good character UKBA Guidance, it mainly mentioned non custodial sentences which are recorded on criminal record. But my court fine in not recorded on my criminal record.
1.Can home office case worker decides on case to case basis as aprt from this court fine i have very clean record.
2. Can i explain it in a covering letter as at that time i have sold the car but as log book is in my name hence i been fined ?
3. Can my refusal affect my other family members application?
4. Lastly, if my application is refused then should in apply in 2021 when 3 years completed?
Thanks in advance

1. and 2. -> Possible, but not extremely likely. Good character requirements are stricter for nationality than ILR
3. -> No, each person applies on their own merit.
4. -> Safest option, keep in mind if you apply now and you're rejected out of the good character requirement it's very much certain that you'll lose your fees.
