Being abroad while waiting for the ceremony invitation letter

Hi,

I am still waiting for my ceremony invitation letter to arrive (5 weeks) but I had to move to France temporarily because of a serious family health issue. This is all due to the pandemic.

I am not sure when I am coming back but my intention is to live in the UK as I have my job and career over there. It could be months.

I should contact the Home Office to tell them that I left my flat and I moved here for a while. Is this going to affect the process even if my application was successful?

You all must know that it is really impossible to plan anything while the pandemic is going on and I am not sure if the postal redirection would work with government letters.

Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks.

You will get your ceremony invitation letter sent at your UK address. You will have to attend a ceremony while you are in UK. You can come back to attend it. You will have 6 months to attend it after the date on the ceremony invitation letter.

No need to make things complicated for now. Just make sure you get your ceremony invitation letter collected at your UK address.
