AN with criminal conviction

Hi all,
Is a past criminal conviction (non-custodial, more than 5 years ago) likely to result in refusal of application? Does it depend on the type of crime? Currently sussing out whether or not to apply. The issue was around receiving child benefit from my home country after moving to the UK (despite me telling the authorities that we are moving to the UK). They claim they never got the letter; it went to court in my absence, and I was subsequently given a fine. Do you think this sort of thing will lead to refusal? (No other convictions; no other issues with application as far as I can tell).
Thanks very much for your help.

Declare that on the form. All criminal convictions have to be declared. As long it is older than 3 years it will not impact your AN application.
