British passport

Hello
I am trying to apply for my first british passport. I am currently having ''Settled Status'' and i am currently living and working in UK for more than 6 years. I am EU CITIZEN.
I start doing my aplication online for british passport and i need to double check if :
1. I need my parents document in ORIGINAL or i can use SCANS? I dont have them with me right now, as my parents are in other country, and i did not think i might need them.
2.can a friend of mine WHO DONT HAVE BRITISH PASSPORT to confirm my identity ?
3. the cost for the application is arround £85??
