Hi everyone
I received my ILR 3 months ago via T1 entrepreneur route.
My landlord knows i was on T1 visa. I have now moved houses. He is now blackmailing me to pay extra or he will contact home office and wreck my chances of citizenship if i don't pay him.
Can he do anything to harm me?
Thanks

Precisely what is he blackmailing you with? As in, what is he threatening to tell the Home Office?

Rent is civil matter. The worst could end up in a civil debt if he takes you to court and you loose. The judge can ask you to pay. If you dont pay then, you may get a CCJ. It is a long process to go till then. He can not do much as this will not affect your ILR anyways. CCJ can effect BC if not paid. But for CCJ he needs to take you to court and win the case which will probably cost him more time and money than what he claims you owe him.

I agree. Merely reporting non-payment of rent to the Home Office does not count against good character. They would need to go through the costly procedure of taking you to court, etc that
Cullinan outlined above to impact your good character.

In addition of what others said, from none-immigration/citizenship point of view simply seek assistance from shelter for free. They are too good over helping these issues.
