5 Years proof of address

Hi all,

I heard that applicants from EU countries are kind of obliged to provide detailed information regarding their residency and proof of address, documents such as: tenancy agreement and the reason behind is that because their passports are not stamped when they leave the UK.

Is this the same case for refugee route? 5 years refugee leave to remain + 1-year ILR. Do I need to provide tenancy agreement for the past 5 years as proof of address? I do have my travel document with stamps in regarding the periods spent outside of the UK (Holidays).

I pretty much spoke to any solicitor they advised that I need to send tenancy agreement for each house that I lived for the past 5 years.

In addition, I was wondering if I need to provide details of temporary accommodations under two weeks?

Thank you,

No it is not needed. Solicitor is talking nonsense. Your stamps on HOTD are enough.

Even if you do not have any HOTD (or you never had one) or there are gaps between two HOTD’s, you still need not provide anything.

Page 16:
If there are gaps in a person’s evidence of residence and it is clear from the information available that they could not have travelled, you must accept this. Examples of this might include a refugee who has no means of travel or where immigration records confirm continuous residence.

Note: If your HOTD covers full last 5 year period, you are good to go. No cover letter needed.

If your two HOTD’s have any gaps (that is between first expiry and issue date), quote the above guidance in the cover letter.

If you never had any HOTD, quote the above guidance in the cover letter and mention you did not have any means to travel outside UK. HO should check their own records in refugee cases.
