Good Character illegal entry British Citizenship

Hi All,

My wife is due to apply to her British Citizenship yay! so roughly 9 years and 11 months ago she was here illegally and we were getting on a plane to go get married however on that beautiful day there were immigration officers checking passports and visas before boarding the plane! (wow were we lucky!) long story short she got her picture taken and name taken as she had no visa on her passport.

We got married in 2010 and she got her EEA family visa and has now had her Permanent Residency Family member since 2016 so we are coming up to her being here legally for 10 years. My question is around the good character aspect of the application which seems a bit confusing.

1 - do we have to list the previous illegal stay prior to 10 years? since they will have it in the system somewhere?
2 - where in the application will that need to be listed?

Thanks in advance folks
V

The form actually asks if you want to declare something which can impact your good character. You can mention there. But as long she has had 10 years legal stay, she will be okay.

Declare it.
