Evidence of Residence

My wife is in the middle of applying for British Citizenship.

She’s a French national and has been in the UK since 2005. She’s been married to a British Citizen (me!) for 10+ years. She’s had a permanent residency card since 2016 and she got her indefinite leave to remain letter in 2019.

She was employed from 2007 through to July 2020 but was made redundant as a result of the pandemic. She has now found a job but from July 2020 to Nov 2020 she was looking for work.

The question is, when it comes to proving that she was resident in the UK for the last 3 years, how would she account for the previous 4 months if she wasn’t working? She also wasn’t getting any form of benefits.

Would appreciate any advice that you can provide.

You could add the 2020/21 council tax bill if it's got your wife's name on it.

That's great! It does have her name on it so I will enclose that as evidence.
