British citizen with EU passport. Post Brexit status

Hi all,

I have dual citizenship. I hold an EU passport and I got British citizenship by naturalisation after having leaved/worked in the UK for a number of years.
I do not have a British passport yet. I have not applied for it, but I do have the British citizenship.

Does anyone know what I should do (apart from the obvious, ie get a passport), what my status is going to be after the Brexit deadline at the end of this year please. Am I going to have any problems entering the UK and continue working here with my EU passport while being a British citizen who hasn’t done the application for a British passport.

You are a British citizen in the UK - until you have a British passport you can use your certificate for right of work and other purposes as necessary. You can still use your EU passport for travel however it's probably best to carry a copy of your certificate to avoid any delays at the border. A British citizen cannot be refused entry into the UK - and a Brit. passport makes that straight forward of course.

Also:

- Update your Electoral Roll entry to show you are British, for full voting rights - contact your council.

- Update your personal details held by your bank - adding nationality - can be done online with most banks.

Many thanks for your help. In fact, I am on the electoral roll, I have voted in the last national elections. Good point about updating my banking accounts
