I have a tricky situation. I have prepared my Naturalisation application along with my 8 year old daughter's application for Naturalisation, in the process I found that my daughters BRP card for Indefinite leave to remain expired on 3rd September 2020. Indefinite Leave was granted on 04 September 2015. It appears Kid's ILR BRP cards are valid for only 5 years. It has been more than 3 months now that the BRP card has expired. I have realised this late and is a mistake on my side.

Please advice on the below questions:
1. Can I apply for Naturalisation with expired BRP card for my daughter ? Daughter's BRP card stands expired for more than 3 months as of today. I am yet to apply for Naturalisation, probably will apply in a week or so.
2. I will apply for replacement BRP for my daughter as we need to travel in April 2021. Will there be any issue to apply for replacement ILR BRP card after 3 months of expiry?

I had to hold back on naturalisation application as I had speeding points. I have no points on my driving license as of now, hence was planning on applying for naturalisation but now a new hurdle....!

No need to renew the ILR BRP “card”. The ILR status remains the same, only card is expired. Also why do you want to apply a BRP replacement in April 2021?

Once your daughter becomes British, her ILR BRP will be invalid anyways and she can not enter UK on it. You better wait to travel till you get British Passport for her now.

Note, children become British effective from the date application is approved/date on registration certificate printed unlike adults who only become British when they attend the ceremony.
