Hi, I was on my DES visa, my child(born in uk,2015) and my husband is on my dependent visa. I have recently got ILR, and I want to apply for British Citizenship for my son now. My son’s Dependent visa is expiring on 10th March 2021, but his passport expires on 12th May 2021. Due to the current COVID situation, we are unsure of the processing time. Could you please guide us what should be the best option to consider in this condition? Thank you

You can register your son as British using the MN1 form. Child current visa expiry is irrelevant. Child’s foreign passport expiry is irrelevant also.
Note: Your child may not be covered by NHS costs after current visa expiry and till MN1 is approved.

I think these days MN1 is taking around 12 weeks.

MN1 processing timeline:
british-citizenship/mn1-registration-ap ... 81180.html
Normally 2-4 months post-corona.

Thank you very much. My husband will also apply for his spouse visa extension so does it make any difference to my son MN1 application?
