Hi,

I'm a bit confused on the referee requirement. The HO guidance states below:
You must ensure that the following requirements are met: The referee must:
• have known the (adult) applicant for at least 3 years
• a British passport holder and either a professional person or aged over 25 (at least one referee must be a professional person).

The way I read it is that both the referees should be British passport holders and one of them must be a professional person. However, in quite a few posts here I've read that the professional referee need not be British. Is my understanding incorrect?

No. Should be a UK resident.
