Help - Confused 8 weeks or 6 months for naturalisation

Hi all,
I was hoping someone may be able to help me...
I am applying for British Citizenship by Naturalisation (Romanian married to British Citizen).
I have completed the application on the Gov.uk website and scanned and uploaded all my documents on the UKVCAS website and I have my appointment booked for my Biometrics at a UKVCAS centre in a few weeks.
I read on the UKVCAS website that their decision will be made within 8 weeks but on the gov.uk website it says the decision can take 6 months...
What is the difference?
If approved by UKVCAS within 8 weeks does this mean they’re happy with my application and all documents and I will definitely get invited to a naturalisation ceremony, but it may take up to 6 months for this to actually happen?
Thank you in advance for any help!

UKVCAS do not review and approve applications! They are a contractor to the Home Office. UKVI is the HO directorate that deals with the application. Their service level is six months - however processing time could be anywhere from two months to six months or even longer.

Thank you for the response.
So in that case, do you know what is the 8 week decision with the UKVCAS? Will I receive anything from them?
I have submitted all documents so I guess once my biometrics are done - I don’t need to do anything else in UKVCAS unless requested to do so?
Thanks,

No - you will receive your approval letter from the Home Office UKVI.

Correct.
Thanks,

Thanks- that does make perfect sense.
I have read here:
Third party weblink removed by moderator.
“Step 5: Receive a Decision
After you have attended your appointment a decision will arrive within 8 weeks, or within 24 hours if you have chosen to pay the super priority fee.”
This is what is confusing me...

There is no "super priority" for naturalisation. This sounds like it refers to some kind of immigration application - yours isn't immigration.
When does the 6 months for naturalisation start?

Hello,
Does anyone know when the 6 months for naturalisation starts?
Is it after submitting the form on gov.uk and paying the fee or is it after biometrics are complete?
Thanks in advance.
Michael

The date of application, i.e. when you submit/pay.
