Query regarding Naturalisation through ILR route

Dear Members

I would appreciate if you can help with questions below

1)Me , my wife and my son all granted ILRs last year via Tier2 5 year route where I was the main applicant.

On our BRPs it says Place and date of issue as `UK 20-02-2020 . After holding the ILR grant we were absent from UK for 3 weeks. Can we apply starting from 21-02-2021 ?

2)My son born outside UK on 27/06/2016. Can we apply all together or should we wait for him until we got BC ?

3) In the referees for children there is the following statement
For a child application one referee should be someone who has engaged with the child in a professional capacity, such as a doctor, teacher, health visitor, social worker or minister of religion. The other referee must be the holder of a British citizen passport, and either a professional person or over the age of 25.

Do you think his nursery key person would be counted as a professional referee ?

Regards

1. Yes. Just make sure you were physically present in UK 5Y before application date as well.

2. You will have to apply for his ILR first as he was born outside UK.

3. Yes but often the Nursery teacher/ care workers are apprehensive of sharing personal details. In this case, one you have tried your best, you can use adult references and explain it in your cover letter.

Thanks for prompt reply

One more thing , Do we need to give our original passports (Turkish passaports) with the application ?
I assume this is not the case but just trying to make it sure

Thanks

No original documents are submitted - you upload scans of everything, including Passport and BRP.

HI

While I was about the complete the application realized that my wife was not in UK in 2016 until 25/09/2016.

This was not a problem when she obtained her ILR last year because dependents absence didn`t count before 11/01/2018 and she was a dependent on ILR application.

Just to make sure .

* Having ILR for 12 months is not sufficient for her to apply with me and she needs to wait until 25/09/2021 at the earliest
* I have to remove her from my application and just apply myself
* My current passport is valid until 11/2021. Is this a concern regarding BC application ?

Thanks

Correct. It is not sufficient for her to apply along with you.

She can however apply on or after the date of your citizenship ceremony (after you get the naturalisation certificate) as the spouse of a British citizen as she has to prove absence and physical presence over the past three years preceding the date of the application rather than the past five years.

Hi

I have applied on 28th Feb and paid the fee and booked an appointment for 26th March with fee of course

I started to upload my documents. Could you please have a look and let me know if I`m missing anything ?

On the highlighted categories

1)Do I still need to prove Sponsort/Employment information ? I guess not as I hold an ILR already

2)Does it make sense to upload references under Proof of Identity ?

Below is the overview of my uploaded files

Mandatory Docs
Proof of application : passport with all the pages

Optional
Other : English Language Certification and Life in the UK certificates
Residence in the UK : BRP front and back as pdf and also ILR Letter of approval from home office
Finance: Latest pay slip from my company
Proof of business - none
Life events- none
Medical information - none
Sponsors / Employment - none
Proof of identity : Ref1 and Ref 2
Educational - none

Thanks for your help

1. No.

2. Referee proof of identity is NOT required!! It is YOUR proof of identity you have to upload.

So quick update

My appointment was yesterday. I used self submit option.

On the appointment date I realized a mistake in my form but it was too late to change it so I wrote a cover letter and uploaded. But self submit is only allowed before 48hrs until appointment so they submitted during the appointment.

I just had a minor issue with fingerprints. I was given an "Annex 3 - Biometric , Bigoraphic and Identification Exception Referral " letter
It says "Natural lines on fingerprints" under Reason for referral.

I was told that this is for the caseworker so they won`t think i had scars etc on my finger tips.
They were really helpful during the process. It took like 10-15 minutes at most.
