Hello,

I'd like to apply for naturalisation. Many years ago, I obtained a Master's degree in Law in the UK (LLM, 12 months degree). Is this sufficient to exempt me from taking a test of knowledge of the English language?

Could someone please advise?

How long ago was it in numbers rather just many ??

I have used my master degree for English language requirement which was obtained in UK in the year 2010 and that did work.

Master degree which you have obtained is for your lifetime and it does not expire so you should be ok but worth waiting for others to respond. Goodluck

I have used my master degree for English language requirement which was obtained in UK in the year 2010 and that did work.

Master degree which you have obtained is for your lifetime and it does not expire so you should be ok but worth waiting for others to respond. Goodluck

Just a quick (final) question. Is the book "Life in the UK" enough to pass the "Life in the UK" test or would I need to buy additional books?

It’s more than enough. Just google lifeintheuktestweb and do 1 to 15 test continuously you will crack the actual test easily without reading the book. I did test only which are absolutely free.
Other one is lifeintheuktests try doing test. It is exactly like dvla driving test where you don’t read the book but do the test online.

Anyway choices are there you just got to choose what is easy and convenient for you.

Google “Life in UK web test.” Do thoroughly the 16 EXAMS (exams not tests). You will pass the test.

The Life in the UK test is 24 questions.

I recommend a website above for you to prepare which has both tests and exams as sample questions. I meant do the 16 sample exams (not sample tests).

You will find 16 EXAMS (24 questions each). If you do them thoroughly (till you get 24/24 correct), you will pass the LIUK test.

Google “Life in UK web test.” Do thoroughly the 16 EXAMS (exams not tests). You will pass the LIUK test.

I can hardly understand the difference between test and exam. I mean, as far as I know Life in the UK consists of 24 questions. You can call it exam or test, there is no difference. The test or exam has 24 questions, that's it, unless you have a better explanation.

I can only vouch for the 16 EXAMS. If you do those I can almost guarantee you will pass. At least 50+ people I have recommended have passed (none failed).

Me, my wife, extended family and friends passed through the same. Obviously personal recommendation. Take an informed decision as you wish.

Both postgraduate and undergraduate degrees from the UK are acceptable for the English language requirement. You should be fine, if you submit the exam transcript/certificate of your Master's degree. The year you studied your Master's degree is irrelevant.
