Hi guys I recently applied my 1st passport after citizenship. I have received a letter that says the name on my foreign passport does not match my British passport application . Unfortunately my foreign passport for some reason they added an h at the end of my name like Sara/Sarah everything else has no h. All my home office documents are spelt without h. They have asked me to change the name shown on my foreign passport (expired)

Does anyone have an idea how to go about it. Unfortunately my original country is not known for efficiency.

Help

Thank 🙏 you

Why is your foreign passport showing the name with an "h"? Is it as per birth certificate?
In any case only your consulate or embassy can arrange a new passport (an expired won't be amended) - and you'll have to insist they drop the "h". If that's not possible you need to ask them for a written statement as to why they can't do it - assuming the underlying documents show the name without the extra letter. You would need to submit that to HMPO with your application.

Thank you for your reply, I don't know why it was spelt with an H, I have always used a spelling without an h . I will contact the embassy hopefully they can help. Applying for a new passport might take months (zimbabwe)
