Hi dear members especially moderators. I have applied for LR application while ago and I am hoping to get my ilr BY the end of this month. I am preparing my daughter application to apply for her citizenship ASAP. Just couple of questions that I highly appreciate your advice:
1- her surname is like this in her UK birth certificate: "AAAAA BBB" and then we got her BC in our country and then got her passport but in the passport her surname is like this:"AAAAABBB" because of rules on the number of characters in passport (my spouse has the same issue). So now in MN1 form, what should I write?
I have found in the annex A: use of names in passports that "Where an applicant has removed/added a hyphen in cases of double barrelled surname, this
can be accepted without documentary evidence providing the spelling and the order of the
names remains the same."
Can I choose and ask them to write it down as her BC?

2- also, we have decided to remove the first part of surname completely to make it shorter and avoid the confusion and trouble for her in future. We are from a country that not recognise dual nationality, although we are not loosing our passports as wel( I know confusing) so I believe we can change the name in the UK passport without need to change it in our other passports as this is so difficult if not impossible. I know a lot of people who have different names on their 2 passports and there is a page explaining change of names in their passport.
So now, when I should apply for her removing first part of surname? Should I do it before applying for MN1 or before applying for her first UK passport?
Can I at least ask them to write her surname in British passport the same as her UK BC and not the other passport?

Really thank you.

You can't have a UK passport with no surname if it's already there on her birth certificate and current passport. There is a sticky thread on this topic. If you must, you will have to get her name changed though a poll deed, get a new passport in the new name and only then apply MN1 with the new documentary proof.

Thank you dear for the reply.
I don't mean no surname. I mean get the UK passport with shorter version of surname. For example only BBB instead of AAAAA BBB as her BC or like her currant passport: AAAAABBB

The name on the registration certificate and British passport will follow the same format as the foreign passport.

Thank you CR001.
I decided to make things simpler now, and don't do any changes in her surname at this stage.
But while filling the application form,
there is a question about the name and then again if there is another name that she use.
for the first question should I write the name exactly as her passport or as her BC? because it says it is the name that will be used on her registration certificate!
As I said:
her name on BC is like: AAAA BBBBB CCCC
her name on her passport is like: AAAA BBBBBCCCC

which format to write for the first question and which format to write as known by other name? does it matter or they are the one to choose which format to use. I will write an explanation as why there is minor difference between those names.

Thank you so much for your help

Expired BRP

Also, her currant brp has been expired on 8th of Feb. I have recently got my ilr and plan to apply for her in a week time. Is this gonna cause any problem or makes her overstayed? As I will apply for her within 28 days of her visa expiry? Thanks

Help please!

Please help me with my above questions about:
1_ write which name's format in application form as explained above?
2_ her brp has been expired on 8th of Feb and I didn't apply for her extension as our Ilr(lr) was in process and now after my successful application I am applying for her. Is an expired visa an issue?
3_ the pdf form for referee doesn't ask for DOB, home address, email and most difficult one to ask for British passport number, but when filling the online application form, it is a requirement. I don't think any professional person engaging with my child will provide any of this information! It is too much personal data! What anybody else did? Especially, none of them is asked in the pdf form that they are required to sign.
Please please help.
I need to submit her form ASAP
Thank you so much

dear members
I highly appreciate your time and consideration if you can answer my following questions:
1- I have received the email of my successful application for ILR last week but I have not got my BRP card yet. Can I submit my daughter's application form before receiving the actual card? as then, I will have time to upload the document. I am under time pressure to get her documents ASAP.
2- If yes, to reply to the question, when your parent got their settled status should I enter the date I received the confirmation email? is it the same date on BRP card?
3- my daughter BRP card has expired on 8th of Feb, is it an issue? should I write a cover letter explain the reason.
4- Do I need to scan all pages of her passport or only the first page is enough? just the currant passport or I need to send all passports she used while in the UK?
5- Also, my spouse has not received the result of her application and her BRP has expired. Should I send a copy of the email confirming her pending application for ILR as well?
Thank you

4) No issue.
5) Current passport’s bio page is enough.
6) No. Not relevant.
