Do the referees have to sign their declarations before or after you submit your citizenship application?

I had my referees sign their declarations about 10 days before I submitted my citizenship application. However, after I submitted it, I noticed that they asked for referee declarations in a separate section again and it occurred to me that maybe the referees have to sign the declarations after you've submitted your application because on the declarations it also says "to the best of my knowledge, the details of the applicant given in this application are correct". That presumably can only be confirmed after the application has been submitted so that nothing on it is changed. Here's the link to the referee declaration.

Required docs: account statement and corresponding HMRC tax return as proof of self-employment

In the last year before submitting my citizenship application, I've done some work as self-employed and I'm also a director of my limited company where I get a salary. They asked for "most recent tax year ACCOUNT STATEMENT and corresponding HMRC tax return as proof of self-employment". Does that mean I have to provide an account statement about my self-employment in the sense of a Profit / Loss Statement or is it something that's already included automatically in my self-assessment tax return?

1) Does not matter.
2) If you do not pay your tax via PAYE, and are registered as self employed currently, provide the latest self assessment tax return.
