Child Passport, parents claim to british nationality

Hello, My wife and I got our "Certificate of Naturalisation" last Friday (19 Mar 2021). We are expecting a baby this week and are planning to apply for British Passport for the baby, after everything settles down. I haven't applied for passports for both of us yet.

Given that the baby will be born on the date after the receipt of our "certificate of naturalisation". I am assuming that I don't have to retain the BRP for proving the child's claim to nationality in the future as well , I will be able to use the "certificate" to prove my claim to british nationality at the time of the birth. Can someone please confirm if that interpretation is correct? If not, am planning to retain the BRP. Any guidance that you can provide would be super helpful

I went through the application form for the passport and it says below.

Evidence of applicant’s parents’ claim to British nationality at adopted in the UK? the time of applicant’s birth
This could be:
Ÿ Parents’ British passport number (provided at section 4 of the application form) OR
Ÿ Full birth certifcate of parent(s)* OR
Ÿ Certifcate of registration or naturalisation

Correct.

Provided the child is born on or after the date on the naturalisation certificate of at least one parent, the child's British citizenship derives from that grant of citizenship and certificate.

Thank you secret.simon :D this took a load off of my head. I’ll proceed with sending the BRP back to HO.
