Hi Team, recently ( 16 -03-2021) I(father) got ILR decision & BRP. I would like to register my UK born child(age 1) as British Citizen using Form MN1. I would like to know, is there any deadline(like 30 days or so) you must register him as Citizen to prove his stay as valid. Since his Tier2- PBS dependent visa expired on 24 March 2021.

No there is not. A UK born child does not need a valid visa to register as British. They have an entitlement to register.
Since his Tier2- PBS dependent visa expired on 24 March 2021.
Applying for citizenship does not make the child legal in the UK once their visa expires. Citizenship is not an immigration application.

Thankq for the reply. So by this I hope I can go through this process(Form MN1) after a couple of months. Since we do not have any travel plans in near future

Note your child may not be covered by NHS costs after 24/3/2021 and till child is successfully registered as BC. So better do it as early as possible to avoid NHS costs (if any in future).

Why wait, especially when currently an overstayer, in a hostile environment?
