Dear Gurus,

Apologies if the below questions have been answered earlier. As I have always relied on this forum, request for your expert guidance this time too 🙂

My wife was granted ILR status in Dec'20 via Tier2 general route. I & elder kid are currently on dependant visa ( dependant partner leave to remain)

We have been renting for many years & now planning to buy house via mortgage. My questions are:

1. Would mortgaging have any impact whatsoever on wife's citizenship?

2. Would mortgaging have any impact on my/kids future dependant visa application renewal OR ILR OR citizenship.

Just need reassurance that there is no impact if we jointly (wife & myself) take mortgage & this is flagged as risk in visa/ILR/citizenship saying that there are financial liability / constraints.

Would greatly appreciate if you could provide expert guidance even if its a marginal risk associated.

Thanks

Your financial arrangements, income, level of tax/NI payments, etc have no impact on your citizenship applications.

However, If an applicant is a serial defaulter on debts and taxes, bankruptcies, not complying with payment arrangements, that would impact the "Good Character" requirement.
