i have my citizenship application refused because i was working part more hours and at the same time receiving benefits for a period of 8 month. Some weeks during the period i worked under and some over the stipulated. Since i was not notifying DWP, I was asked to pay back, including the civil penalty.i thought it was a harsh decision since some of the month i exceeded the hours by only 10 hrs. Can i apply for reconsideration or just wait and apply again. if i am to reapply when can i do that.

thanks in advance for your response

For us to help you, list your immigration history and when you worked more than permitted.

So, something like

Jan 2010-Jan 2012 - Tier 4 student
Jan 2012-Jan 2014 - Some other visa, etc

And list which periods you worked longer than permitted? Also, did you claim benefits when you were not allowed to? Most visas don't allow you to claim benefits.

Can you give exact dates? If you were granted ILR in 2008, then what’s the problem between Feb 2018 and Aug 2018?

that's the period i worked part time and exceeded the 16 hours maximum stipulated for one to receive job seekers benefits. i should have notified the home office. i did accept my mistake and agreed to payback the overpayment.
